u2start: about us
U2start.com was founded in July 2006, the site started out as a personal site because of the many U2 websites on the internet.
I wanted to create an overview for myself where I could easily see the headlines from various U2 websites on one page. I also hated the
terrible availability of U2 bootlegs on the internet so I created an easy page where people could easily download some bootlegs from
free hosting services. You can say that U2start was created out of the things I missed as an U2 fan on the internet.
Three generations of U2start.com (v1.0, v2.0, v2.5):

The first U2start featured only some headlines from a few websites, some bootlegs and some links to YouTube U2-videos. As the site started
to get popular (mainly because of the bootleg availability) I decided that it was time for some fresh blood. So I started to work on U2start v2.0,
the next generation of U2start for a larger audience with more content and also a forum. U2start v2.0 was released
in October 2006. After U2start v2.0 was used in full and all the bootlegs
were uploaded I started working on U2start v2.5, a highly improved version of v2.0 with a better layout, new content and fixes for all the things
U2start v2.0 didn't had. U2start 2.5 was released in August 2007. In July 2008 there became more and more rumors of a new U2 album and tour,
anticipating on those rumors I started working that month on U2start 2.9, a slightly improved version of U2start 2.5 with improvements all over the site like
bootleg reviews and a fancy photo uploader. U2start 2.9 is the U2start you are looking at now and was releast in August 2008.
And as a personal note: I'm Remy Gardien, I'm currently 21 years old and living in the Netherlands. I work in my own company named e-Dot
which provides domain registration, webhosting, webdeveloping and more (internet) and design services. I also study in Enschede and besides U2start and e-Dot I have
a lot of other projects going on, which are visible on my personal domain name, remy.tv.
If you want to contact me I can be contacted at remy [at] u2start.com.
