It baffles me how The Joshua Tree is always u2's highest ranking albums in these polls when its arguably not even not the best u2 album

It baffles me how there's never any recent albums either. Most recent on this list is from 1991.

In terms of sales numbers, that's simple to explain: in the internet era, sales of physical albums go down.
In other terms, there weren't many great albums since1998 . I can hardly think of any that could gain legendary status... Some may turn out to be one, though. Albums are like wine. The older they get, the more they get appreciated.

Yep, there's is no real objective way to judge an album. It's just a matter of taste and... Zeitgeist :-)

I don't like these lists much either, I tend to disagree a lot with them. In the end it's all a matter of opinion anyway, you can't say one piece of art is better than another, you can only say they're different. But I am glad it was JT that made the list, I think it is one of or maybe IS U2's best album.

He didn't pay for that carousel and the llama's & giraffe's... (...and jurors and judges?!?!) with monopoly money !!! He paid with royalties from "Off The Wall", "Thriller" and "Bad".
(Which in my humber view, were his best work)
