I wonder if U2 played during Zoo TV different versions of Love is blindness. I mean the fantastic guitar solo.
Also during Elevation Tour I think I heard different live Versions of the BSB guitar solo.
Is that right? Maybe someone can drop a list where and when the played different?
Thanks!

Love Is Blindness was played at every ZooTV show (I'm 99.9% sure, they messed around once or twice with the basic encore setup, pre-Zoomerang, e.g. dropping Desire, WOWY or Ultra-Violet here and there but I'm pretty sure LIB was never excluded), and as for BTBS, the solo was alright on Elevation (and BTBS was only not played twice as the encore opener as far as I remember - the South Bend show which kicked off the 3rd leg of the tour. Boston 2001-06-09 kinda has two separate encores, Beautiful Day on its own slot before BTBS kicks off the main encore) but I don't think there are any particularly different versions - ever since ZooTV, it's run along the same lines, but there's the odd performance here or there during ZooTV and Vertigo where Edge improvised.

Love Is Blindness was pretty much unchanged for ZooTV with the early 92 gigs being longer in length. Thats the only variation I can think of apart from the odd solo change.

there were a few spoken word bits at the end during leg 2 (september 1913 being one) and depending on how the (random crowd girl) dance was going with Bono, edge would improvise a little bit. Birmingham (UK) and London 92 is beautiful because of this...

I'm imagining BTBS, because the SBS solo is fairly established, and Loverman refers to "different" solos - there's not a lot of difference between the SBS solos of different eras other than Edge has played it on different guitars in different keys; the solo itself has remained the same throughout, whereas BTBS has changed in style over the eras. The fact that's they've put BSB does make it slightly difficult though, I just made the assumption (for better or worse) that they mean BTBS lol...

BTBS was at it's peak at the Elevation tour imo... Edge had the solo rocking, the video intro's were great... Vertigo Tour was nice too with the snippets of These Are The Hands That Built America and Johnny Comes Marching Home Again.

I've said it before, I don't really like the Elevation versions that much - the solos usually sounded great but otherwise were fairly run of the mill. Ever since PopMart, I've not been as keen on BTBS - it only seems to go anywhere during the solo, but nonetheless it would have been great to actually be at an Elevation show ; I'd imagine it must have been great to watch it.
If it's solos you're after, I'd recommend ZooTV, particularly the European leg ('92, that is - not '93, although as Gerard points out, they're pretty damned good too) - Dortmund and Paris are superb in my opinion.

Speaking of BTBS, the one from Rotterdam'92 is slightly different too, and extended. Just great..
