What about, before a topic is posted, a search using the topic name is automatically performed, if a similar topic already exists, it will be displayed letting the user check to see if they're answer, or whatever is in one of those topics already.

Wouldn't work, people will name topics different anyway. There's still a line stating that you should use the search page before you open a topic.
Ah well, doesn't mind for this kind of topics.

Is there an easy search function or one that could be added? This way if someone has a question on a topic that has been discussed, they can easily find it.
I know one can search the forum but I'm talking about a search function... where say I'm looking for thoughts about Zoo TV tour. I put ZOOTV TOUR in a search function and it brings up the threads about ZOOTV tour?
Am I making sense? Damn cold meds have me a bit fuzzy this morning.

I had a thought this morning as I was listening to a podcast during my commute to work. It would be awesome if this site had a podcast in the style of the forums --i.e. round table, free-flowing chat style. The other U2 podcasts I've found (mentioning no names) have seemed too structured and borderline- stuffy. What I love most about your site is that everyone is on the same level --that true equality and mutual respect abound. This concept would make for an awesome podcast, in my opinion.

We already have a proper search function. You type the word or phrase into the box and search and it throws up all the topics that contain your phrase in the title. Is this what you mean?
